Our Center is designed for Children

Quite often, a child’s first significant time away from home and first exposure to structured learning occurs at Mountain Park Academy and Learning Center.  With this in mind,  our facility feels like a home away from home for children and families alike.  Our centers are designed to foster an environment where children feel comfortable, safe, and ready to learn. With attention to every detail,  the center design ensures and encourages a child’s natural curiosity and creativity.  With age appropriate furniture, accessories, and supplies to match the children’s age and size in order to make sure that their introduction to learning is comfortable, enjoyable, and fun!

 Our centers feature:

  • Safe, secure, and private access
  • 7 Separate classrooms that have been specifically setup for age appropriate learning activities.
  • 95% of building walls are glass allowing for bright vibrant learning spaces
  • Complex is surrounded by Trees allowing for beautiful year round natural scenes
  • Cameras in each of the classrooms that are monitored in the administrative offices
  • Bathrooms designed for age-appropriate use
  • Spacious, fenced-in playgrounds that have designated areas for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
  • Ample parking
  • Canopy to allow for quick drop off / pickup

What are your hours of operation?

7:30 am – 5:30 pm Monday through Friday until further notice.

 What age children do you accept?

Children of ages 3 months through 5 Years of Age

Which holidays are you closed on ?

New Years Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.

If the holiday falls on a Saturday, School will be closed that Friday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, School will be closed on Monday

All weather related closing would be aligned with Gwinnett Co. School Announcements.  Disruption in service will be noted on the website, by email, SMS (if all proper contacts is provided (including but not limited to early release due to weather conditions, ice day etc.)

Is playtime/outdoor time available?

Yes, our schools are equipped with three to four areas of outside play. The children have scheduled times in the morning and the afternoon to explore their outside world. As an added safety feature, our schools have six to nine foot fencing around the outside perimeter of the play areas.

Are meals and snacks provided?

Yes, we serve hot meals and nutritional snacks. Our location is equipped with a full-service kitchen and staff trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children.

Are you a peanut free facility?

Recognizing the possibility of and problems resulting from allergies, Mountain Park Academy is a peanut/tree nut free facility. No food containing any nut product or processed in a plant that also processes nuts is allowed into the building. Every product brought into the school must contain a clearly visible ingredient list.   In addition, children and classroom visitors are required to wash their hands upon entering the classroom at the start of each session to eliminate any food residue. In accordance with our peanut free policy, we provide an approved list of special treats if you choose to bring in a classroom snack for an event or birthday party.

Is the staff background screened?

It is a requirement by Bright From The Start (Georgia Childcare Licensing Agency) that all staff  at Mountain Park Academy and Learning Center including Owners and Directors have finger printing background screenings; local, state & FBI.

Is your staff trained?

Yes, the Mountain Park Academy faculty are required to follow their state regulations that apply to training.  Staff is trained in First Aid/CPR, Infectious Disease Control, Injury Prevention, and Child Abuse Awareness. Additional training in curriculum, child development, classroom arrangement, classroom management, age appropriate activities, nutrition, field trip planning and OSHA regulations provide the skills needed to create a quality learning environment. The staff is encouraged to further their education through CDA and TCC programs and are given opportunities to attend professional training. ** Background checks may be requested ($.)

 What parental involvement do you have at the school?

Mountain Park Academy believes that the partnership between our families, teachers, and administration is vital to the success of our children. For this reason, we offer numerous opportunities for parent involvement in our school. We encourage our parents to volunteer in our classrooms during special art projects, story time, or science experiments.  Donating your gently used books and toys is also encouraged.

 What items do I need to provide for my child?

Infants:
  • Bottles pre-made with formula or breast milk.  Bottles must be labels with Full Name and date.
  • Diapers, 2-3 pairs of change of clothes and comfort object i.e. pacifier
Under 1-2 yrs:
  • Diapers or pullups if not potty trained, 2-3 pairs of change of clothes including underwear if trained or training.
  • Light Blanket for for nap-time (no pillows or stuffed toys permitted per state guidelines)
  • Sippy cups which will need to go home to be washed daily
Over 3-5  yrs:
  • 1-2 Pairs of Full Change of clothes
  • Light Blanket for nap-time (no pillows or stuffed toys permitted per state guidelines)
  • Uniforms
    • Girls (pants, jumpers, short or skorts and Navy Blue Polo shirts)
    • Boy (Pants or shorts and Navy Blue Polo Shirts

What time does my child need to be here by?

Circle time begins at 9 am in all classrooms. If you would like your child to participate in this then please be here prior to 9 am.  If for some reason you are unable to come by that time, please call us an let us know what time you plan to drop off.  We ask that you do not drop off between 11:30 am – 2:00 pm as that is their nap time.

Do I need to schedule a time to take a tour?

 Yes.  We would like you to Pre-Register at Mountain Park Academy Now  and Schedule a Tour of Mountain Park Academy.
